Grantham ultra runner, Paul Rushworth took part in the
annual Coventry Way event. The off-road trail run involved a 40 mile
circumference of Coventry with participants never being more than five miles
away from the city centre.
Despite the close proximity to the urban city, the route
crossed some of Coventry and Warwickshire's finest countryside and included
canal tow path, disused railway and field tracks which were swampy in places
after recent rain
After leaving the start at Meriden, runners visited
Kenilworth, Stoneleigh, Wolston, Brinklow and Bedworth before returning to
Meridian via Fillongley.
Paul arrived back in 37th position in a time of 8 hours 8
minutes and 32 seconds.
