On
Remembrance Sunday at 11:02, immediately after the national 2min silence,
Grantham Running Club’s Tony Johnson started the Boston Poppy Run 5 Mile Road
Race. In a small field running over the expected flat and windy course Tony was
surprised to find himself in 2nd place at halfway. Battling with the
strengthening wind in the 2nd half of the race, Tony dropped to 3rd place and
manged to hang on to equal his highest finish positon of the year. No age
category prizes were awarded to maximise proceeds for the Royal British Legion,
however Tony was delighted to come away as first MV50 with a time of 32:21.Sunday 11 November 2018
