Six GRC members made the very short trip to take part in the Caythorpe Dash 2022 which was donating all proceeds from the race to the Ukraine Appeal.
Craig Drury was the solo GRC entrant in the half marathon event which
took in trails, country lanes and farm tracks around Caythorpe Heath, Sudbrook,
Carlton Scroop, Hough on the Hill and finishing at Caythorpe Pavilion. Craig completed the course in 2:02:39.
The half marathon winner was James Ross of Sheffield 1:21:37
In the 5k event which used local trails and an old railway line local to Caythorpe, Stefan Latter claimed 3rd place overall in a time of 20:31. Gillian Cardus and Vicki Geeson finished together in a time of 33:59.
5k winner was Ben Allen of Lincoln 17:45
In the Canicross event Stuart Baty was 1st Male finisher with his sidekick Oscar and 2nd overall in 23:27. Paula Pick-Ebbins and her running mate Rosie were 2nd female finishers in 23:58. Winner of the Canicross was Lisa Pask in a time of 23:0.
After the race runners were greeted with the Caythorpe Dash cake fest for refreshments where trophies and medals were presented. All runners commented on how well organised this event was and would return in September for the 5 and 10k.
