WOMEN'S RUNNING 10K RACE SERIES: Nottingham St Ives

WOMEN'S RUNNING 10K RACE SERIES: Nottingham

Grantham Running Club's Abi Schofield was delighted to finish in sixth place just one place behind model and charity fundraiser Nell McAndrew in 44:17 in a race attracting almost 340 runners. Here they are pictured together at the end. This race is part of a series of women only events specially designed to overcome any barriers women may feel in taking part in this type of event with touches including tea and cake for all finishers.

St Ives 10k

This undulating race climbs from the Cambridgeshire town of St Ives to a fast section on the taxiways of RAF Wyton's Airfield and before returning on rural lanes to the Leisure Centre. In a field of 500 runners GRC's Catherine Payne picked up the prize for first in her age category in a time of 43:23, teammate Robert McArdle finished in a season's best of 45:02
