Medals after the race

Sunday 9^th July started cloudy but resulted in a very hot and humid day but was also the day when 16 Grantham Running Club green vested ladies descended upon Victoria Embankment in Nottingham to take part in one of the Women's Running Race series.  Races on the day ranged in distance between 10k, 5k and a family 1 mile fun run.

Although the course was flat, the weather conditions, coupled with the fact that you had to loop back along the embankment a few times made for a challenging run overall.   It was a very well organised event with plenty of water stations and lots of encouragement from the many marshals along the way which was very welcome with the heat sapping everyone’s energy levels.

 All competed in the 10K race with Justyna and Mel completing the fun run with their families after the main event.

Finishers collected a goody bag, Technical Tee Shirt and a very ‘girly’ medal complete with glitter effect embellishment.
