60:26 for Nichola |
On Sunday 19th May, Nichola Webster from
Grantham Running Club travelled southeast to Swaffham for the Hayes & Storr
Sublime Swaffham Spring 10K.
With its HQ just beside The Green Britain Centre, the well
organised race was held on a closed out and back road course in the heart of
the beautiful Norfolk countryside. With a noticeable climb at the turnaround
point, the second half was tougher than the first, with warm conditions making
the going even harder.
On the comeback following injury, Nichola finished just
outside the hour in 01:00:26, the day made even more pleasurable when combined
with a trip to the seaside.
The race winner was the recent Sleaford Half Marathon victor
Wayne Lathwell of Lincoln AC, who clocked a lifetime best 34:02. The winning
female was Sally Hurst of Renegade Runners in 41:50. There were 281 finishers.
