Lincoln Half Marathon

Tony in the starting pen
"This was the second running of this event, I also ran it last year, but this year's course was different as we turned downhill at Burton after about 2M then followed the canal until we reached the Brayford. The climb back up to the castle came at about 8M, where we ran on a cobbled section, before heading back to the Showground. The route is mostly flat apart from the hill which is steep in places and lasts about a mile.
Chris finishing well
This event isn't cheap to run – over £30 but the roads are closed for runners and it is very well marshalled. This is probably in line with most city races where there are road closures in place. The queues for the car park at the Showground weren't as bad as last year and despite arriving just after 8.30 I wasn't charged an extra £3 to park as was advertised.
There was a decent medal at the end as well as a goody bag and a glass of Erdinger 0% as well as a 500ml can in the bag which also contained a High 5 promo pack, bag of Quavers, packet of randoms, bottle of shampoo and hair shaper (?), can of fizzy drink  and a bottle of water."
