Last Wednesday’s race at Stamford double counted for the
members of Grantham running club as not only was it the forth out of five in
the Peterborough Grand Prix but it was round seven of the club Championship. In
terms of the Peterborough races Rob Howbrook’s 46th place overall
means he still leads his age category but as he will miss the last race of the
season his four point lead looks precarious. In the same age group Robert
McArdle is currently 5th but could easily move up to finish forth
with a good performance in the final race at Werrington on 1st
August.
In the GRC Championship runners were competing for age
graded points. First home for the club was Grant Davis in 18:13 giving him
71.37%, followed by Richard Payne in 19:01(69.3%) with third home Joaquim Jeronimo 19:21 (68.52%) followed by Rob Howbrook
19:43 (80.64%). A fine performance by Nick Rossington to finish in 20:30 earned
him 73.12% just in front of Andy Atter in 20:38 who scored 64.26%. First GRC
lady in was Holly Durham in 21:00 (71.70), next was Robert McArdle in 22:28
(70.16%). Second lady for the club was Caroline Davis in 25:05 (65.27) with
Rosalind Sadler just behind in 26:02 (61:00). Julie Gilbert took 27:21 and
scored 59.86%. Sylv Huth’s time of 27:58 was worth 54.37% with Jacqueline
Jacobs’s 28:27 being worth 57.55%. Edina Burns finished in 32:00 to score
47.51%
