There was a cooler morning for
the Asda ‘Run for All’ 10K in Nottingham. The run featured seven GRC members,
of which four recently completed this years’ 10 weeks to 10K programme with the
club. The course was a flat route out to Holme Pierrepont and back allowing for
the chance of a few personal bests. All of the runners commented on a strong
head wind on the return stretch of the lake which made life a little more
difficult during the second half of the race.
First
home for the club was Richard Taylor with a personal best time of 51:09.
Shortly following was Anthony Boyle with another PB of 51:39, knocking a
whopping 5 minutes off his previous Lincoln 10k time. Vicki Ball also got a PB
of 56:17. Rachel Kettle followed in after running a good race with 1:04:10
Lucinda
Gamble, Claire Fritz and Julia Hallam ran together and crossed the finish line
in style with a time of 1:10:44. Notably, this was Lucinda’s last race before
she gets married and her clothing reflected the wedding theme along with her
running bridesmaids!
